The Province of British Columbia's Ministry of Community, Sports and Cultural Development, which includes the Film Portfolio, provides an annual Regional Film Commission Assistance Program Grant of $30,000. Honourable Ida Chong is the Minister of Community, Sports and Cultural Development and the ministry is represented by the B.C. Film Commission (website).
Resources - Staff
The Thompson-Nicola Film Commission staff includes the Executive Director of Film, Victoria Weller, plus the Acting Assistant to the Film Commission, Gina Marks. The Thompson-Nicola Film Commission also draws upon the expertise of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District staff such as its GIS & Mapping Dept., as well as its accounting, administration, planning, utilities & health, and technology departments. The film commission also works with freelance photographers and locations scouts.
