Movies that have filmed in the Kamloops, Savona, Ashcroft,Cache Creek & Spences Bridge area include An Unfinished Life, Shooter, Firewall, The Sweet Hereafter, Flicka 2, Joyride, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and the blockbusters The A-Team and 2012.
TV mini-series and TV series episodes that have filmed in the Kamloops, Savona, Ashcroft and Cache Creek areaa include The Andromeda Strain, Traffic, Iron Road, Battlestar Galactica (the finale & as Planet Algae), Alice and Miss Texas.
Clearwater & Wells Gray Park (website) have attracted movies, commercials and sports shows such as Snowmobile TV due its spectacular mountains, waterfalls and rapids, and snow. The movie Deep Water was filmed in the town, its forests and backroads, and in Little Fort.
Blue River and Mike Wiegele Heli Ski Resort (website) and the surrounding Monashee & Cariboo Mountain Ranges provide breathtaking heli-skiing, heli-boarding & snowcat adventures as seen in Warren Miller films (more) such as Seven Days in Paradise, Ski Television (more), HD Discovery Channel Living the Dream (more) and independent movies such as the Porche & Skiing film (more).
Merritt attracts the Country Music Channel (CMT) (more) and Biker TV covered Merritt's Great Canadian Bike Rally (more). Movies attracted to the area include The Wicker Man, The Pledge, Wildfires and The Snow Walker.
Lytton's small town atmosphere were the backdrops for the movies The Pledge and Cole, as well as commercials.
Our Cowboy heritage attracted Cowboy Country TV (website) which toured the entire region and highlighted prominent
cowboy singers, poets, ranchers, cooks and artisans as well as key guest ranches and working ranches. Cowboy Country TV featured many BC Cowboy Heritage Society members (website) such as Merritt's Dave Longsworth (more) and Kamloops' Mike Puhallo (website). Other Cowboy Country TV segments included Savona's John Haywood Farmer of Indian Garden Ranch, Barriere's horse riding trails, Clinton area's Big Bar Guest Ranch (website), Cache Creek's Historic Hat Creek Ranch (website) Merritt's Walk of Stars, Westwold's John Ralph Schurrenberger (more) and many, many others.
